DAY 1
Have you ever felt like God made a mistake when He created me? Or
have you ever felt like I am not special? Some other people are
successful, happy and special, but not me. I come from an
ordinary family, my parents do not necessarily think that I am
special. Who am I that God remembers me by name? If you have ever
felt that way or if you are currently feel that way, then you can
not miss this week's study.
Every person is unique. There is no one person that is the
same with another person. Each person has different fingerprint
and different DNA. Each person has her/his own identity and
experience in life. Each person is God's precious and unique
creation. Each person wears a label, "Made by God."
Let us look at some of the verses in the bible about how special
each person are made.
"God's hands made me and formed me" (Psalm 119:73)
"For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." (Psalm 139: 13-16)
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5)
Let us use the day to meditate on those verses. The Bible says that God fearfully and wonderfully make me. I am not an accident. The Bible says that God knew me, set me apart and appoint me when I was still in my mother's womb. I am special in God's eyes. I am God's handiwork.
DAY 2
Now we are going to see the
verses from Jeremiah 1:5,
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were
born I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the
nations."
The Bible says in Jeremiah 1:5, that there are four things that
God did before I was born:
a. God knew me
b. God set me apart
c. God appointed me
d. God formed me
Let us look at the first one: GOD KNEW ME before I was born. Wow!
Many times we feel like nobody knew me; Nobody understands me,
not my parents nor my husband/wife. But, there is one thing that
is for sure, God knew me even before I was born. But you may say,
"I don't feel like God knows me. I don't think He knows
me." Yes, that is a very common feeling. Look at the
following argument. Many Christians accepted the fact that God
created man, including me, but many Christians doubts the fact
that God knew us. Actually, if you accepted the fact that God
created me, than you should not have any doubt that God knew me.
After all who knows a creation better than the creator. For
example, if you are a computer programmer and you design and
created a program. Who knows the program better than you are as
the creator? The creator, the designer, knows the creation very
well. The creator knows the things that will make the creation
function well, and he also knows the things that will make the
creation function poorly or even destroy it. Yes, our Creator
knows us very well. If you can accept the fact that God is our
Creator, then be assured that He knows us, His precious creation,
very well.
DAY 3 Now we are going to continue studying the verse from Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." The Bible says in Jeremiah 1:5, that there are four things that God did before I was born: a. God knew me b. God set me apart c. God appointed me d. God formed me Yesterday we have discussed the fact that God knew me before I was born. Today we will see that not only does He know us but also He has set me apart before I was born. What does set apart means? Set apart means chosen or separated for a purpose. Yes, God has set me apart for a special purpose in life. This is one reason for man to always look and search for the purpose in life. God has planted that seed in each person's heart. Nobody can go feel fulfilled until he knows the purpose of his life here on earth and until he completed his purpose of life. This is deeply rooted and planted in each man's heart. That's why everywhere you go, whether in America or in the deepest village in Africa, people are looking for a purpose in life. Do you know your purpose in life? What is your purpose in life? Is it to be rich, to lead a successful life? What is your definition of a successful, happy, and abundant life? If you are still searching for SOMETHING more, that means that you have not fulfilled your purpose of life. Maybe you have not found it. If you have not found it, then today is the time to pray to God and ask for His guidance to know your purpose in life. Then, find a Christian counselor to help you find your purpose in life. You are not going to be happy and fulfilled for the rest of your life, if you don't know the purpose of your life here on earth. Every person wants to complete his purpose in life before he/she dies. Therefore, pray and ask God to help you find the purpose for your life.
DAY 4 We are going to continue studying the verse from Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." The Bible says in Jeremiah 1:5, that there are four things that God did before I was born: a. God knew me b. God set me apart c. God appointed me d. God formed me Yesterday we have discussed that God knew me and God set me apart for a special purpose. Today, we are going to see that God has appointed me for a special job that nobody else in this earth can performed the job quite as well as I can. Yes, God has appointed me for a special job. Look at the following illustration. A man was trying to assemble a cabinet. He used a "kitchen knife" to screw the cabinet. The "kitchen knife" kept slipping and it was very hard to screw the cabinet. After a hard try, the man saw that the "kitchen knife" could not be used as a knife anymore, it was ruined from the unsuccessful try to screw the cabinet. Then, his wife passed by. She said that she had a screw driver. The man used the screw driver. Oh, it feels so good to feel that the driver fit and gripped the screw. The job was done easily and with high satisfaction. It is like that too with our lives. Each of us has been appointed to a special job that God has ordained us. We are called to be there and performed a certain function. There is nobody else on earth that can do the job quiet as well as we can. We are like that screw driver that is meant to be used for building the cabinet. Everybody else is like a kitchen knife for the job. They don't fit as good as we can for that specific task. God has chosen us to do a certain job while we are on earth. Are we functioning like the way God created us to be? Do you know how special you are for God has not only knew you but also He has set you apart and appoint you for a special purpose. Each one of us is God's special child.
DAY 5 Now we are going to continue studying the verse from Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." The Bible says in Jeremiah 1:5, that there are four things that God did before I was born: a. God knew me b. God set me apart c. God appointed me d. God formed me In the past several days we have seen that God knew me, God set me apart and God appointed me before I was born. Today we are going to see that God formed me. Yes, we are God's special creation. Each one of us is God's special master piece. Each one of us is His unique art. We are "made by God with love." We should keep this knowledge all the time, for in this way we will always remember that we are not an accident, we are not just simply production number X, we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
